Current Campaigns

Here are our current campaigns. Check the calendar for meeting times!

  • Clean water – our most precious resource is in trouble, and we’re looking to get it (and keep it) cleaned up by contacting the EPA and asking them to change the way they enforce the Clean Water Act.
  • Affordable Textbooks – you heard us right: we want to put an end to egregious textbook prices. We’re working with everyone from students to administrators to lower the price of college textbooks.
  • Stamp Money Out of Politics – we believe that peoples voices are more important than their wallets and we want to keep it that way. We’re working to encourage Washington pass an amendment to overturn the Citizens United decision. We’ve collaborated with Ben and Jerry’s before to do it through their awesome Stamp Stampede project.
  • Our Hunger & Homelessness Campaign is working to alleviate hunger and homelessness within our community. It’s focused on entirely local causes and groups. This quarter we’re raising money for and volunteering with ROOTS Young Adult Shelter. We’ll be exploring new ways to help our community and we’d love your help.

Interested in helping out with one or all of these? Contact us at washpirg@uw.edu and we’ll put you in touch with the appropriate campaign director.
